The Acorn 130 T700 stairlift is the latest model offered by Acorn Stairlifts. The lift can be identified by locating the large silver label on the lower landing side of the carriage. Notable differences between the T700 model and previous 120, 130 models include the PCB, revised error, fault and charging codes, a 28v DC power supply and sheathing on the armrest toggle switch control wires. Some of the latest models will also have smaller rail mounting brackets and a seat post lock.
Acorn 130 T700 Codes & Troubleshooting
The following is a list of error codes for the Acorn T700. The lift should only be serviced by a professional stairlift technicians.
The Digital Display
If the display next to the key switch is Off – The lift is either not receiving power; or is in sleep mode. To wake from sleep mode press the toggle switch or remote control button. If the stairlift is not parked on a charge point, or in the event of a power failure, the stairlift will beep continuously for approximately 60 seconds, then enter sleep mode. Once in sleep mode, the stairlift will beep twice approximately every 40 seconds.
Resetting the Acorn 130 T700
On certain occasions, it may be necessary to reset the control board of the stairlift. To reset the lift switch the battery isolation switch OFF for 30 seconds, then switch back on. This will reset the fault codes on the display panel.
C = Charging Codes
The T700 is a battery operated stairlift that is powered by two 12 Volt 7 AMP HR batteries. The batteries are charged when the lift is parked on is charging contacts at the top and bottom of the track. The charging contacts are powered by a continuous 28V DC power supply. To verify the power supply is working flip it to the side with the LED, if the LED if OFF the power supply does not have voltage. If the LED is green the power supply is working properly.
C1 – C5 NORMAL – The Batteries are charging and the charger is connected operating properly.
C1 – The batteries are low in charge, progressively increasing to C5 sustained charged.
C6 – NORMAL – Battery is fully charged and the charger is connected but not charging because the battery is at maximum charge capacity.
C7 – FAULT – Charge voltage too low, the charger connected but not operating as required.
C8 – FAULT – Charge voltage too high the charger is connected but not operating as required.
C9 – FAULT – Battery fault the charger is connected but not charging -battery is not found, or is faulty.
A1 – The lift will beep when left off a charge point, or is not receiving charge voltage.
E = Error Codes
Some of the E codes can be used for basic issues on Acorn 130 T700 stairlift troubleshooting, others will require a technician. Only a trained technician should install, adjust, or service any mechanical or electrical device on this equipment.
E1 – Footrest switch DOWN side, the directional safety switch on the safety edge or underplate has been activated.
E2 – Also the footrest switch but on the UP side, the directional safety switch on the safety edge has been activated.
E4 – The carriage edge switch DOWN side safety switch has been activated.
E5 – The carriage edge switch UP side safety switch has been activated.
E6 – Seat is not swiveled and in the locked operating position.
E7- Internal batteries are low. The lift may have been left off the charge contacts or unplugged. Try moving the lift down to the nearest charging station. The lift won’t travel in the UP direction with until the batteries are sufficiently charged and the code has cleared.
E9 – Key switch is in the OFF position. Check that the key is in and turned to the ON position
F = Fatal Error Codes
F1 – Relay fault, the PCB controller may need to be reset or replaced.
F2 – Brake fault voltage to brake failed to release or brake replacement.
F3 – Main motor overcurrent fault
F5 – Battery low or flat, audible alarm press the arm switch control or the remote control once to
stop the alarm. With E7 on display, bring the lift down to the nearest charging station and try recharging the batteries.
F6 – Final limit switch activated, the lift has traveled past its normal stopping limit and overrun to the final limit.
F7 – OSG or Overspeed governor device has been activated – never wind lift in the down direction!
H – Hardware Fault Codes
H1 – Safety grounded to chassis specific to the SW1 safety circuit.
H2 – Safety grounded to chassis specific to the SW2 safety circuit.
H3 – FAULT – Hinge communication fault, he stairlift is failing to operate the hinge section.
H4 – FAULT – Hinge end position not reached, The hinge section cannot get in line with the rail or fully folded.
Programming the Remote Controls
The process for programming the remote controls on the T700 lift is different than previous 120 and 130 models. To program the remotes, first park the lift at the top landing. Next turn off the key switch so that the digital display is showing E9. Finally press the lower safety edge on the carriage and, at the same time, press the DOWN button on the remote control. The lift will beep to recognize the program and signal from the remote. Turn the key switch back on and the remote controls will be programmed.
