The Acorn Superglide was the original stairlift manufactured by Acorn in 90’s through 2004. Acorn has since introduced several new models like the Acorn 130 for straight staircases, the Acorn 180 for curved stairs, and other variations with features like folding track and slimmer designs to fit most homes. While discontinued several years ago there are still many Superglide models in operation to this day.

Repairs for the Acorn Superglide
One of the most common repairs we do on this lift is replacing the black toggle switch shown in this picture. The toggle switch can break and should be replaced since its the primary way to operate the lift. Using the remote controls can be an alternate way to operate the lift until the toggle is repaired.
Reprogramming the Superglide Remote Controls
There may be times where the remote controls need to be reprogrammed. If this happens you can reprogram the remote controls be sending the lift to the bottom of the track to the charging contact and normal parking position. Next turn the seat so the digital display is showing 4 and press the toggle switch on the armrest in the down direction, and at the same time press the RED button on the remote control for 5 seconds. Turn the seat to the correct operating position and test the remote.
