Service in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland area

Code: 0 – Stair Lift batteries are low. The batteries require charging. Move the lift to either the top or bottom of the rail to begin charging. If the lift does not charge the batteries will have to be replaced. If there is a continuous beeping noise the batteries are not being charged and the lift needs service.

Code: 1 – This is a normal operating code; the stair lift is fully operational and ready for use.

Code: 2 – The stair lift is not charging, or the lift is not receiving any power to charge the batteries. If the lift is in the middle of the track send it all the way to the top or bottom and park it over one of the charge contacts. If the lift continues with this code, make sure the transformer is plugged in and switched on.

Code: 3 – Over Speed Governor. The over-speed governor is a mechanical braking device to stop the lift from an uncontrolled descent. This code indicates that this safety device has been activated. Call for service and discontinue use until the lift has been checked.

Code: 4 – Seat swivel switch. The stair lift has a safety feature so that when the seat is not in the correct position for traveling it will not move. This code indicates that the seat is not in the correct position to operate. Check the seat is locked in the ride position and locked. Sit on the lift, press the swivel lever and turn the seat a few degrees then twist the seat back into the correct position.

Code: 5 – Key-switch. The lift has a key switch on the lower panel next to the digital display facing the top landing. When this code shows the lift has been switched off using the key. Check the lift is switched on at the key switch. Try and pull the key out of the lock. If it does not pull out the lift is switched on. If it pulls out, place the key back in the lock and turn it clockwise.

Code: 6 Final Limit switch. The stair lift has activated the final limit switch, there are two points on the rail where this will occur, at the top and the bottom of the rail. When this code shows the stairlift has hit overrun the final limit and shut off. This code will require service

Code: 7 – Footrest safety edge or footrest safety switch under the footrest. The chair lift is fitted with five different safety surfaces to stop the lift if it hits an object. There are three on the footrest and two on the carriage itself. Check for obstructions.

Code: 8 – Footswitch on the upside. Check for obstructions and if none, check the safety edges are moving freely.

Code: 9 – Carriage safety switch on the upside. Check for obstructions and if none, check the safety edges are moving freely.
